The Physiologically Difficult Airway course aims to provide knowledge on physiologic derangements that could result in a difficult airway and strategies to prevent and/or treat those derangements from resulting in more serious complications.
Course Objectives
- Define and differentiate the physiologically difficult airway from the anatomically difficult airway.
- Identify the most common physiologic derangements that can result in a difficult airway.
- Discuss the strategies to prevent and/or avoid complications from these derangements when performing tracheal intubation.
