The Complex Cases in Acute Care course aims to provide knowledge using a case-based approach on disorders encountered in the acute and/or medically-complex hospitalized patient. This course heavily focuses on the clinical presentation, diagnostic work-up, and working through differential diagnoses to determine the appropriate diagnosis and treatment plan.
Course Objectives
- Identify acute and/or decompensated disease states that mimic other disease states.
- Review clinical findings and diagnostics that aid with differentiating between acute and/or decompensated disease states.
- Discuss the treatment plan, including medication management, for the acute and/or decompensated disease states.
