The course, CPT Evaluation & Management Overview: Inpatient Updates, aims to increase knowledge for the appropriate coding in the inpatient setting. This course will provide real world examples illustrating the necessary documentation requirements needed to support your coding and billing practices.
Course Objectives
- Review the background and basics of CPT E/M Coding.Â
- Review the initial hospital care, subsequent hospital care, admission and discharge guidelines for coding.Â
- Review examples of straightforward, low, moderate, and high complexity medical decision making.Â
- Review the requirements, including documentation, for the various services types (e.g., critical care, inpatient consult services).
